In-progress Critique 1 (3/1/12) Notes

- Alee really loves the hands photo because of the reflection

- Natalie is conflicted about the hands photo because she feels like plaster molds of hands are overdone, but she is interested in the reflection.

- The reflection is the most interesting part of the hands photo, don’t even need the actual plaster hands in the photo.

- The photo with the pink robe on the floor needs to be a little bit lighter.

- You seem to have a fascination with clothing.

- Do the fridge photograph and the hanging blue shirts photo talk about anything else but the color blue?

              - Some say that they both look very clinical, very sterile.

              - Some say that it is about absence or emptiness (empty jars, empty

clothes/ the removal of the body)

              - Others say no.

- Sound the jars be placed somewhere else instead on the fridge?

- Possible triptych: the blue clothes, the nude clothes, and the fridge photo?

- All the photos are minimalistic.

- The hands photo is not communicating with the other photos.

- interesting how you are incorporating your past sculpture.

- Are these photos bizarre enough to cause wonder?

- The photo with the hanging blue shirts should be less cyan because even though it is intentional, it looks like a mistake.

- What is the selection of objections creating?

       - Absence of human?

       - Traces of people?

- All of these photos are very calculated/ very set up.

- Push your unique interest in objects

- More focus in the construction of these scenes

- The fridge print and the nude clothing print look good.

- Nice arrangement on the wall.
